Family Wellness Center has been created by Kristopher Komarek, LCSW and Dawn N. Riggs, Ph.D. Dr. Riggs holds a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama and is a licensed psychologist in Nevada. Kristopher holds a Masters of Social Work. (MSW) from the University of Nevada Reno and is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in Nevada.
Kristopher specializes in serving children in the categories of 0 -3, pre-school (4 - 5), middle childhood (6 - 12), teens, young adults (18 - 30), adults, and families. Kristopher has worked in mental health and social services since 1987 starting as a program facilitator for pre-adolescents and adolescents in trouble with the law. Since then he has managed programs for adolescents, worked as a state policy maker, managed millions of dollars in contracts for child, adolescent and family services, and has turned to being a practicing clinician.
Dr. Riggs has been a licensed psychologist for 12 years and began practicing therapy in 1991 at the Auburn University Psychological Services Center. Dr. Riggs has worked with adolescent clients in residential treatment, adult clients in outpatient and inpatient settings including 15 years work with veterans. Dr. Riggs has also provided services in an intensive outpatient substance abuse program. Currently Dr. Riggs is specializing in health psychology, eating disorders, and women's issues.
